Completion of payment of EAC compensation
Atlantic Insurance Company Public Ltd, in order to inform the investing public, announces the payment on December 28, 2012 of €102.5 million as a compensation of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. With the payment of this amount, the payments of the compensation for the restoration of damages at EAC plant from the disastrous explosion at Evangelos Florakis Naval Base in Mari on July 11, 2011 have been completed. The total amount of compensations stood at €132.5 million.
With this opportunity, the Company would like to thank the contract reinsurers for the immediate settlement of the compensation, which is the largest insurance compensation ever paid in Cyprus.
